Happy New Year everyone! 

To kick off this new year of 2013, the DMK PTA is proud to present “Jack and the Beanstalk”, a live performance to be held in February 2013 here in Discovery Bay.  Chunky Onion Productions use theatre in education as a great way to foster creativity, encourage teamwork and inspire the use of English.  Funds raised at this event are donated towards educational and charitable causes.

Price:             Regular HK$100/ticket, Early Bird HK$90/ticket (Purchases made on or before 18 Jan 2013)

 

You may purchase your tickets from 4 January 2013 onwards:

1.     From Startrite Store (G/F, Shop 29, DB Plaza) in person and in cash.  Startrite is our sponsor for this event, or

2.  By sending a cheque made payable to “Discovery Mind Kindergarten Parents and Teachers Association” via your child’s letterpack.

Thank you all Play Centre Parents, Teachers and Staff members for your generous support to the Play Centre Bake Sale.  It was a fun and successful experience.

12 Dec 2012 - Bake Sale @ Play Centre

Christmas Bake Sale Playcentre Wednesday 12 December 2012

Our next event is a fundraising Christmas-themed Bake Sale on Wednesday 12th December 2012. Money raised from the event will not only benefit our school but also the Sunbeam Children’s Foundation, through which we sponsor two children in Baiwan, China.

Date:  Wednesday, 12 Dec, 2012

Time:  9.30-10.00am, 11:00-11.30am, 12.15-12.45pm, 2.15-2.45pm, 3.50-4.15pm

Venue: Playcentre in the plaza

Playcentre parents, we need your help: we'd like to invite parents to donate baked goods and children's favourites for the sale - cupcakes, cookies, baked treats...
Feel free to bake to the Christmas theme and add to the fun e.g. red and green icing, christmas trees & puddings, santas, reindeer etc.... (Remember: No nuts please). 

We would appreciate if you could pre-wrap or separate into $10 portion-sized treats, Please label your container with the name of the treat, your child's name and class if you'd like it returned. Remember to collect your containers at the end of your child's school day.

Please bring along your treats to DMK Playcentre Reception before 9:00am on the day of the sale or after school on Tuesday. Donations can be sent in with bus friends on the school bus.

Parents of bus-children or those who cannot be present at pick-up or drop-off for the sale can send $$ in with the children on the day of the sale. Teachers will accompany your child to make their purchases.

PTA Meeting - Thurs 4 Oct 2012

Calling all volunteers & class moms

Thank you all of you who offered to be DMK PTA Volunteers! 

We would like to invite all volunteers and class moms to a very special PTA meeting in which we will all discuss our fabulous events for this year and sign up for committees to help with certain events.  We will also all welcome Stephanie Abbott – our new Events Chair.  

The Event is Thursday October 4^th at 7 pm at Zaks

As we are trying to go paperless and limit the data input work we, as a PTA does, we would like you to click on the link below to register / reply if you can make it.

Sep 2012 Bake Sale - A Big Thanks!

Thank you all for your work in making this first bake sale run (relatively) smoothly and earn lots of cash for the school and our charities.    

Special thanks to the K2 class mums and parents - we have sampled many of the goods and they were YUMMY! 

The unofficial total for the day is over 3500 HKD and we had very few leftovers (we gave them to the teachers and school aunties)!

Bake Sale this Friday, 21st September 2012

Our first event will be a Bake Sale to be held on Friday 21st September. 

We are asking all K2 families to bake and sell but the sale is open to everyone to purchase. 

Please support us by bringing some money to pick up/ drop off or send your child to school with some money. 

All baked goods will be priced at $10 each.

PTA AGM - Thursday 6 September 2012, 7.30pm

Hello and welcome to a new school year from the DMK PTA! 

We hope that you all have had a great summer and are returning refreshed and relaxed. To kick start the new year, we would like to invite you to our Annual General Meeting which is being held at:

Hemmingway’s on Thursday 6th September at 7.30pm.

This is a chance to find out who the PTA are, what we are all about, what events we have planned and how you can get involved, as well as catch up with other parents of the DMK community.

We are also looking for parent representatives who can help out during the year so please consider getting involved. If you sign up during the evening, you will be entered into a prize draw to win a meal for two.....

As an added incentive to come along, there will be a free welcome drink and 20% off all drinks after that. 

So that we can plan numbers, please let us know if you can attend preferably by email at  pta.dmk@gmail.com by Friday 31^st August. This will also help us in our aim to go paperless by 2013.
